Nikon Safari – Photographing the Big 5 in Sabi Sabi South Africa

One way to end a ten week international tour is to simply take a 16-18 hour flight home from Johannesburg, South Africa. Another way to end it is to have Nikon South Africa sponsor you on an African Safari at Sabi Sabi before that flight home! I was fortunate enough to have the latter.

I just came back from an Amazing week finishing off the international portion of our Adobe CS6 and Creative Cloud World Tour. The last two international stops were Johannesburg and Cape Town (see my earlier post). After leaving Cape Town we flew to Nelspurit and then drove on to Sabi Sabi (a private game preserve). This was my second safari in South Africa and it was a pleasure to be back.

I put together this photo book using Adobe Lightroom 4.

It was great photographing this magnificent creatures in the wild! It was even better doing so with a Nikon 200-400mm f/4 lens. Didn’t want to get too physically close 🙂

Thank You South Africa!

What an amazing week I just had in South Africa! Johannesburg and Cape Town were the last two international stops of our Adobe CS6 and Creative Cloud World Tour and I must say that South Africa pulled out all the stops.

Flying over Johannesburg!

Kicking the week off with a special Nikon V.I.P. event at the Nikon South Africa Headquarters!

The crowds were great in both Johannesburg and Cape Town!

As you can see, they really got into Adobe CS6 🙂

Both cities offered a FULL DAY event and there was very little drop off by the end of the day.

Jason, Paul and I not only enjoyed our time presenting, but it was great to interact with you all live via social media.

Of course free t-shirts are always fun to toss out at random.

I gave my Nikon D4 a work out here in South Africa and this beast really performs.

It’s always great when fans come up and ask us questions.

I must say that Jason was really getting into it. He’s is crowd activated and the South African crowds got him going. The hair came down and the spontaneous singing began. Good thing he’s a musician too 🙂

CS6 Tour: Thank You Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima!

Last week we wrapped up the South America leg of the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Tour. We kicked things off in Buenos Aires with a slightly smaller crowd, but the CS6 enthusiasm was in the air nonetheless.

Then we moved on to Santiago Chile for a capacity crowd and probably one of the best stage setups that I’ve seen on the tour to date!

This giant projection wall accommodated multiple projectors for a seamless video wall experience.

The last stop in South America was Lima Peru. The first thought that came to mind was “we’re gonna need a bigger boat”.

I was overwhelmed by the attendance at this venue. Not only was the main presentation room full to capacity, but even the overflow room was shoulder to shoulder.

Lima is a beautiful city as well as Santiago and Buenos Aires! Can’t wait to go back…

Thanks everyone for attending and I hope to see you again soon! You can follow the tour here at the CS6 Tour Site (built with Adobe Muse).

Adobe CS6 Creative Cloud World Tour – Thank You Helsinki & Stockholm

Wow! What a way to end the week. We presented Creative Suite 6 and Creative Cloud to over 1,200 people in Helsinki Finland and Stockholm Sweden while touring on the Adobe CS6 Creative Cloud World Tour. It’s always a treat for me to get out and see real users of our products and to see those users get excited about the new features of Creative Suite and the new options in Creative Cloud!

Now that Creative Cloud is available as well as the new Adobe Touch Apps we can show even more in the cities to come. Today we’ll be in Oslo Norway! Looking forward to seeing you this week and in the weeks to come.

Jason Levine once again put together a great clip with some customer testimonials….

I also got to spend a little down time off the grid in Sweden over the weekend thanks to my colleagues Fredrik and Jason!

Adobe CS6 Tour: Copenhagen – Thank You

We’re on tour here in Europe and I wanted to take a quick break to thank Copenhagen for coming out to our event yesterday! We had a great crowd of over 750 people and they were quite pumped up about Adobe Creative Suite 6 and Creative Cloud. My colleague Jason Levin put together this video (yes using Premiere Pro CS6, Audition CS6, SpeedGrade CS6 and After Effects CS6 🙂 <-yeah he’s crazy that way):

Today we’re in Helsinki Finland and once again showing CS6 & Creative Cloud to a packed house! Looking forward to Stockholm tomorrow!

Wow (aka ¡¡moM) Gracias Ciudad de México

Although I’m on the go again, I had to take a moment to thank the great people of MĂ©xico City for coming out to our Adobe CS6 and Creative Cloud launch event!

On behalf of Greg Rewis, Paul Trani and myself, you made us feel very welcomed and we had a great time showing off Adobe CS6 and Creative Cloud. MĂ©xico City came out in full force and filled the venue. Although the event was several hours in length, practically everyone stayed till the end!

It was also a nice surprise to see Adobe Mexico go all out and get into the theme of CS6 with their very own CS6 Models

No matter how much time we have to present there are always things that we don’t get a chance to show. Therefore be sure to check out my Adobe Creative Suite Video Podcast and Adobe TV.

Imagine my surprise when someone handed me this sketch by @rayacosta! I was both flattered and honored. Thanks Ray!

This was a great start to the CS6 Tour, Thanks both São Paulo and México City! Home for a couple of days and then off to Europe, Argentina, Chile and South Africa! Stay tuned to the events section on the sidebar of my blog for details.

What I’m Teaching at Photoshop World DC

It’s that time of year again. It’s time to head out to one of my favorite shows – Adobe Photoshop World. This year’s east coast event takes us to Washington DC. As usual I have a slew of classes that I’m teaching on a variety of topics. Everything from using the iPad in your Digital Photography Workflow, to InDesign classes for Photographers and Designers, to Importing and Managing your Images in Lightroom 4. Also while I’ve got your attention, the class that I’m doing on creating Interactive Portfolios is based on using InDesign to create Interactive Portfolios for Tablets.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Thank You Finland, Sweden & Denmark

I’m currently traveling on the 2012 Adobe Nordic Design Tour. My 1st stop was Helsinki and then I was off to Stockholm and Göteborg. Today I’m in Copenhagen.

The tour has been going great and it’s been fun presenting with my colleague Rufus Deuchler. We’ve been concentrating on tips and tricks as well as new technologies like Adobe Muse (code name) and Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition.

The crowds have been great! Thanks for attending. Also thanks goes to Erik Bernskiold for taking the pics above.

It’s also great being here in beautiful Copenhagen!
