  1. It’s quite transparent how Adobe employees have been given orders to do their best not to give any too much good publicity to Apple and it’s products.

In every answer for those simple questions there is a mention that Apple product is in use but maybe not for long and it will be Google product they will be changing.

No wonder because Adobe and Apple haven’t been good friends lately. But readers should take this in consideration that these are opinnions driven from the head of the company and it’s strategy.

I believe consumers should be noted that this kind of journalism is actually advertising and thought out well for a certain goal.

    1. Oma, believe what you will, but I’ve been given no such orders (nor has anyone else in the company). If you think about it (based on your belief), wouldn’t it be easier just not to mention Apple products at all? There’s no directive or conspiracy here as much as you may believe there is. I’m an Adobe employee. I run a Macintosh users group (http://macgroup.org) and have for over 20 years. I run a App review site (http://bestappsite.com). Based on your theory, I wouldn’t be “allowed” to do those things. Dave’s answers (whether you like them or not) are “Dave’s” answers.

BTW: What does it say about journalism, when people just make stuff up (“Adobe employees have been given orders”) without any evidence or proof?

Oh wait! perhaps the orders were given I just chose to ignore them. I’m a rebel. I’m risking my career for the love of my Mac and my iPhone, but I don’t care. It’s worth it. The products are just so insanely great!

      Pirate flag raised!

Damn the orders! Full speed ahead.

(now that’s a story that I hope get’s picked up: “Rebel Adobe employee defies orders and likes Apple’s products”) Great for my hit count ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Terry I love PS & Lightroom & my Macbook Pro. My only worry about all the fireworks going off is that their wont be any cool heads left on both sides to make sure both products Kick Ass together. To me that would suck.

        1. Jared, rest assured that besides the “one” issue being played out in the public, our relationship is still a very good one. Adobe continues to invest in Mac and the iDevices. Apple continues to market and showcase CS5.

Here’s something to see for fun ๐Ÿ™‚

          and of course there’s this:

          1. Not so sure, ever since SnowLeopard came out, Its like Crash City, with Adobe LR & PS on all three of the Macs I use.

Lots of issues crashing especially when working LR to PS and Back

Its almost like Apple released SL to compete with windows vista!

          2. I use that combination every day and most of the day without a single crash. I’ve been in SL since day one. There must be something else going on. I’d start with either a clean install of SL or at a minimum logging in under a NEW user account and do some testing.

      2. Of course Apple products should be mentioned because users know how smoothly they operate and if someone with a lot of respect in high position says he uses the same products but now there could be coming something EVEN MORE BETTER it will be good to meantion Apple products to compare just how good the new rivals will be โ€“ย even though there has been only announcements and NO working devices!

        How crazy is that!

For me as a regular customer it sounds a bit too strange how Adobe employees make their best to suggest that just announced Google products are so cool, even though NOBODY can use them or buy them.

Don’t get me wrong, I love your blog and respect you heavily and I always listen to your advice before I make any investments. I do hope that you keep your cool with provocative readers like me. And I hope I am wrong but I wouldn’t be suprised that there is a strategic decision not to praise Apple products too much.

  2. Terry,

The first poster was way out of line, I believe. I, too, work for a software company and I too believe we have the best products out for our market (CAD Utilities). There is no way I’m going to knock them. If it was that bad of a company I would be working elsewhere. Is it perfect? Hell no, what place is? But it is a far more productive and stable place to work than I have worked at in 10 years. So I’ll stay.

I must say that even though I never knew you worked for Adobe (I’ve only been to your web site a couple times and it never registered you were an evangelist) for the last several years I always look up your blog every morning to see what you got to say. You are pretty even handed in what you say and you say it strait and make it easy to digest.

That being said, I believe my life was better as a designer and as a whole without the personal computer revolution. Could be I’m getting old but it still takes the same amount of time to make a 4 page brochure from conception to final output. Weird, huh? But I’m not a gadget hound like you and it doesn’t consume my life. But for you, it is your job to know this stuff. I’m just now getting an iPod, for crying out loud, and your post on the install in your car was very valuable.

    Thanks!

  3. I know Dave and he’s a gadget guy that rivals Terry. He says what he means. ๐Ÿ™‚
