  1. You, Scott Kelby & Matt all praise Google+ but there does not seem an easy way to load pictures. Can you offer a tutorial on loading pictures from Lightroom.

On a side note looking also for a way to add them via my Iphone.

Last how are all of you adding both pictures and a web link to a post? I have been round and round trying to do it to no avail. Can do it in my blog http://www.greenenergyphotography.blogspot.com but not in Google+

Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. Wondering how Lightroom fits into the new policy/pricing structure change Adobe recently announced:

Can you offer some insights on how Lightroom’s licensing and usage will be impacted by this change?

What are your thoughts on that and how it will impact the enthusiast/hobbyist? What about corporate owners that need layers of approval before buying any software (makes the subscription model rather difficult to sell I would think)? Lots of downsides but not many upsides from my perspective – would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

  3. Good information. Thanks. There is one thing that prevents me from using Publish Services with facebook.com though – publishing to Facebook Pages. Is there something I’m missing?

  4. Great video Terry!! What software do you use to create the picture within a picture effect at the beginning of your podcast?

  5. Terry, in your podcast you have some photos hanging on a “I do know what they are” but I like them. Please tell me where I can buy these “hangers”.

And what size is the photos behind you

    Thanks,

  6. Hey Terry!

I’m an amateur photographer and I found you when I was looking for hints and tips for Lightroom 3 from YouTube. I just wanted to say that I really like your photos and your blog. Awesome job! I would really like to see a video tour of your home studio. It looks so cool and huge! I’ve seen the pictures of it but a video would be great.

    Keep up the good work!

  7. Great tutorial Terry..as usual. I have implemented the publish services and everything is working great. Now here’s my dumb question: Can I automate the process of leaving the original edited photo in it’s original folder and get a copy into my Smart Collection called Recent Work?

    1. Not really unless you somehow build into your Smart Collection something that would pick up the photos such as a keyword “recent work”. Thanks!

  8. Hi Terry – great tips! However, I think I’m running into a bug with the LR publish service. When publishing to hard disk, it does not seem to update the filename if the name has changed, even though I checked the option to update filename when setting up the PS. That is, if the photo itself is modified the develop changes show up, but if the filename is changed LR still publishes it under the old filename.

The only workaround I have found is to remove the photo from the publish service, re-publish (thus deleting it), then add it back to the PS and re-publish again (re-adding it). Then it does appear with the new filename.

Have you ever run into this, and if so does LR4 beta show the same behavior? Since iOS5 went back to using filenames to order pictures, mine are out of order because the filenames are not being updated by LR. (I’m syncing my iOS devices to a LR published folder)

    Thanks,
    Ken

  9. This is very helpful and a great idea for streamlining working with the published collections. Thanks for creating and sharing it.
