oddly enough…. no “IPad Camera Connection kit” available on the pre-order options or mentioned anywhere on the Apple Store writeup. So far, it only exists in the original announcement blurb… and in my heart.
Good catch! hmmm….
Terry – No one at our local Apple Store knows the answer to your EPUB question. Once the answers to this and your other questions about the iPad are known, please post them! It’s hard for me to believe that Apple would cripple the iPad by not allowing us to distribute and easily load our own EPUB XHTML documents onto the iPad – but you never know.
I too use InDesign. I notice Adobe has some white papers about using InDesign to convert to EPUB, plus sample eBooks (http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/library/) and even 3 videos on the subject (http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/design/crossmedia_resources/ebooks_software.html?sdid=FDIFS&). If the answer to your EPUB question is “Yes, you can easily load EPUB files onto the iPad” then you may want to mention these sites to your readers, if you deem it newsworthy.
I appreciate all the hard work you do to make your blog a “Must Read.”
The good news is that it looks like “User EPUB” docs are a go on the iPad. It will be one of the first things I test during my review.
