  1. Hi Terry,

I’m a pro using PS6, and I was just using a friend’s CC and noticed something changed with the transform tool, so I googled “Photoshop CC” + “transform tool” + “raster vs smart object layer” which was no help at all, so I’ve turned to you.

Typically when you distort a raster layer with the Transform tool, the the transformation is committed once you press enter, whereas with a smart object layer, the transformation continues to be editable.

However, with CC, I made a square, pressed command-T, held the command key and pulled a corner outwards to distort the square. Pressed Enter to commit. Then I re-enabled Transform, the bounding box encompassed the entire shape as I expected, but when I moved a corner handle on the bounding box to simply scale the transformation, the raster shape returned to a square!

I dont have CC myself, but I thought you might be able to shed some light on this.

    Thanks!
