As many of you know I'm a Mac user and usually a fan of Apple's products. There a many times that I would post more about Macs, iPhones and such here, but I try to keep an even balance because I realize that there are a fair number of Windows users here too. So unless it's a hot new product introduction or major update, I tend to just let it go by.
Back in August of 1986 (yes that's 23 years ago), I founded MacGroup-Detroit. I've been the president of this organization for 23 years. It's a very active Michigan based users group with roughly 500 members. For the last 20+ years we've had a monthly newsletter called "MacNews". About a year ago we went from a printed publication to a PDF online only publication. This was working OK, but the more I thought about it the more I started to wonder "why?" Why go through page layout just to deliver electronic information electronically? So a couple of weeks ago the monthly newsletter was converted into a daily blog. This way, the writers can post content whenever it's ready, the information can be more timely and the members can subscribe via their favorite RSS readers.
Why are you telling us this?
Since I'll be posting Mac related content on that blog regularly, I figure that if you're a Mac user, iPhone user or iPod user and want to read more of my stuff (or the posts from my friends) this is your chance. Simply point your browser to terrywhite.com. Also if you're a Mac user and want to join an awesome group of Mac users, you can find out more info about becoming a member here. Windows users are welcome too (we won't tell). However, anonymous Mac bashing comments will never see the light of day 🙂
When I have something Mac related to say, most likely I'll say it there without hesitation. I will still do my "iPhone App of the Week" here though.
Best of luck with the new blog, looks promising!
This is fabulous, Terry. Thank you for sharing this with us! I can’t wait to check it out!
Hi Terry,
As far as I’m concerned…you can post all of the information that you care to on Facebook. Your advice and teaching have proven to be super valuable. After all, I came to Mac meetings when I was still only a PC user… and now i have two Macs!!! Thanks to you and my sister!!!
