I’ll be posting some video updates over the next day or so of cool things I’m checking out here at Macworld Expo. I’m going to start with a product I’ve been meaning to review here. It’s the Joby Gorillapod SLR. Although this is a great portable, travel tripod for your Digital SLR, I found out today that it has some other cool uses. Check it out!

I’ve used the Gorillapod to attach a sound pressure level meter when I calibrate the audio in my home theater. Works great!
Terry I really wanted to see this video but it is very choppy. I let the entire thing but I still have to constantly start and stop to view and then it only plays for 5 sec and stops again. Time for a new setup.
The video was smooth as silk for me. Nice work, Terry!
hey terry – i have the gorillapod slr zoom and it doesn’t come with that head that was just shown. is that unique to the gorillapod slr only?
thanks!
Mike,
The speedlight attachment is NOT included. You can get it here:

Video played beautifully here even with VPN on which usually slows video to a crawl.
thanks, terry!
it seems like the attachments are only for the gorillapod-SLR and not the SLR-zoom. maybe i’m just understanding it wrong… would you know if they are compatible to the gorillapod SLR-zoom version?
Hi Mike,
The Flash quick release clip works with the Gorillapod SLR only and is available on our accessory page at http://www.joby.com.
Hey Julia,
Thanks for the clarification! 🙂
Mike
I guess it only plays well on macs.
