Adobe is just about ready to release the Lightroom 3.2 update, which features support for several new cameras as well as a slew of new lens profiles and bug fixes. In addition to these features there will also be a new Publish Service – Facebook. Just like the Flickr Publish Service, you'll be able to upload your photos directly to your Facebook albums from Lightroom 3.2. Above is a video I recorded to show you how the process will work.
You can download the latest Lightroom 3.2 RC (release candidate) here on labs.adobe.com
That is just too cool. Great video. I use Flickr, but rarely. I’m hoping SmugMug gets included soon! That would be huge for me. I have a group of photos to upload to SmugMug right now. If only …. Thanks for a great post, Terry!
Lynn-
I use both LR3 and Smugmug. There IS a plug in for quick uploading – it’s great, I’ve used it for 6 wks already. Just upload the whole grouping with a push of the smugmug button!
Thanks Lynn and you never know what might get put in to the final version of 3.2 🙂
Was that a SmugMug Logo under publish services, below Flickr at 5:05? I hope so 😉
Why not stretching the list by adding Mobile Me. That would be cool…
Terry, you and adobe are the greatest. Thank you for your exceptional videos which help us to get up to speed quickly..
great tutorial. thanks!!!
Can you publish to a specific Page with in your facebook account? Thanks.
Hi Terry, great video! Is there any way that of adding pics to a publish collection that have already been uploaded to facebook without lightroom marking them as unpublished? In other words, can I manually mark a pic as published?
Thanks a mil!
Not that I know of. Thanks!
Is there a way to specify your Business facebook page instead of your main PERSONAL page. I have a business page set up for my photography., but when i try to set up the facebook link in Lightroom it always goes to my personal page and I can’t figure out how to change it. Any help would be appreciated.
No because FB doesn’t appear to allow this.
Thanks a lot! I didn’t know I had to drag the photos into the facebook album and I was going crazy trying to figure it out!
Terry,
Is there a known fault with “exisiting albums” on Facebook? When I create a Facebook collection to publish, I click the drop-down and the album which I want to select does not exist. The destination album is a valid existing album on my Facebook account and I have authorized the app to Facebook.
Just strange that it seems to only list 24 albums in the drop-down. Is there a limit in albums?
Thanks.
Yes there is. Actually the limitation comes from Facebook’s APIs. We’re trying to work around it, but they severely limit what we can do. I reported this to the LR team on day one when I ran into the same problem.
