Blogging from the beach

I don’t really have anything to review today. I’m here in Myrtle Beach with family taking a little mini vacation. I just got a phone call and then I remembered the WordPress app on my iPhone and decided to give it a real world test right here and right now. Surprisingly the AT&T 3G coverage has been pretty good here. Here are a couple of shots. I’ll be back next week with some new reviews. Have a great rest of your weekend. 😉

  1. Hey Terry,

Hope you were able to relax a bit. I posted this comment on Scott Kelby’s blog as well considering how us photographers/digital artist travel with or laptops & other small electronics. Have you or anyone seen this article on the US Boarder Agency seizing your laptop & such? It’s pretty frightening. Hopefully we all can stand up & get this policy overturned. Here’s the link:

It was also in PC World.

  2. Not to sound all weird and big brother-ish on you, but I’d be concerned about posting my exact location on the internet. I mean, if I saw this post at the exact moment you did this, and I lived near that location, I could come out and find you. I find that a little unsettling.

But hey, the technology is very, very cool!!

  3. Terry, last year AT&T started blanketing some resort areas with 3G. Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head launched in December.

Like many people, I waited to get the 2nd gen iPhone, only to wonder how much 3G coverage, I would have. Fortunately here in New England – Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket the coverage is as good as most of the metropolitan areas. The launch here came in May, just before Memorial Day.

Too bad DSL hasn’t had the same fortune. I am pretty close to town and only get about 2850 kbps. They claimed to be rolling out 6mb last January. While I am told that Comcast is close to 6mb. Strongly considering the switch.

  4. Hi Terry,
