It's time to signup for Scott Kelby's Annual Worldwide Photowalk! The 2011 Walk will happen this October 1st & 2nd. Once again I plan to lead a walk here in the Metro Detroit Area. Since this is the first time he's done this in the Fall I've chosen the Franklin Cider Mill as our photowalk location as the fall colors should play very nicely for some great shots.

Trip Report: Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It with Scott Kelby
What do I do on my week off? I hop in my car and drive 4 hours up to Toronto to see Scott Kelby do his "Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It Seminar".
It's not often that I get a chance to actually sit in on someone else's classes. I go to Photoshop World twice a year and I see a list of great glasses, taught by world class instructors and then I sigh because I know that either the class I want to take is happening at the exact same time as one of the classes I'm teaching or I have some other show duty that prevents me from attending.
This means that when I have an opportunity to take another instructor's class, I grab it!
I would dare say that I've learned most of what I know about photo retouching through my buddy Scott over the years and although I'm quite comfortable doing portrait retouching I'm always eager to learn something new.

Shooting with Scott Kelby in Denmark and Sweden
In case you haven't noticed I'm on tour in Europe. I've been on the Adobe CS 5 Evolution Tour since the beginning of May. Often times there are weekends where it doesn't make sense to come all the way home and then go right back out again, so we try to pick a good place to regroup for the weekend. It just so happened that this past weekend we stayed in Copenhagen. My good friend Scott Kelby told me before that he always wanted to visit Copenhagen and it worked out with his schedule that he could join me for the weekend to see the sights and of course do some photography. Scott asked his Twitter and Facebook followers for some shooting location suggestions and they came pouring in. Needless to say we not only had a blast, but we got to see some fantastic places. Be sure to head over to Scott's blog to see his photos from the weekend and I put together a few of my favorites below (most of my shots are geotagged, so if you're interested in "where" these photos were taken head over to my Flickr gallery). Another Successful Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk
Although we got rained out on Saturday, we didn't let that stop us and those that could make it on Sunday (plan B) came out for a great time. This year we walked the Detroit Zoo for a change of scenery. In 2008 and 2009 we did Downtown Detroit and since not a lot has changed in 2 years, I wanted to try a different locale. The Zoo is one of those places that you can go every day and get something different because not only do you have the change in seasons, but you also have the "animal activity" factor. Depending on when you go and the mood of the animals you'll either catch some great shots of them interacting with each other or sleeping 
It will be great to see what everyone submits, here are a few of mine for kicks:

Scott Kelby has released his NEW Lightroom 3 Book for Digital Photographers and just like his last book on Lightroom, this one is a must read as well. Scott uses his usual straight-forward, I'm talking to one of my friends style to walk you through the ins-and-outs of be productive with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3. I know the amount of time that Scott puts into his books and not only does he find just the right words to explain a topic, but he also spends a great deal of time finding and shooting just the right image to make his point.

Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk 2010 is here!
It's time of year again and I'm excited to announce that once again I'll be leading a Detroit area photowalk on Saturday, July 24th, 2010. This year I'll be taking my group on a photowalk of the Detroit Zoo. As usual there are only a limited number of slots, so you should probably sign up NOW. You can do so here. If by the time you read this the walk has already filled up (we were first to fill up last year), go ahead and get on the wait list. Each year people sign up and then something comes up and they have to drop off. So if you're on the wait list you'll automatically be slotted in to the next available slot.
Terry's Personal Favorite
Not only are the photos once again competing for Scott Kelby's eye as his top picks, but I'll also award a prize or two for my personal favorites from this year's walk.
