Have you noticed a strong yellow tint to the iTouch screens? I saw an image of the new iPod touch on a MacWorld review and it compared the screen to the previous generation and an iPhone and it did have what appeared to be a pretty strong yellow cast. Considering that showing photographs is one of my important reasons for being interested in one, color cast would be an issue.

Thanks!

Terry,

I'm an album kind of guy. Especially Frank Sinatra Concepts Album, Beatles, and Eastern European religious choirs. To me, the album IS essential with much of that music. However, I also know that there are a lot of music I've purchased from iTunes that are single tracks. And that goes into playlists.

I am noticing that today's "synch in progress" is taking a LONG TIME with iTunes 8. Like several hours.

Sean,
It's True! All previous iPod touch models can be upgraded to 2.1 and get the same software features (including the App store) as the new one. You would then only be missing the integrated volume controls and the speaker (and thinness). Otherwise you would have everything else.

Terry,

Is it true that the previous generation iPod Touches can take the new software update? Do they then get all of the features of the new Touch including apps from the App store?

Other than the smaller size and an integrated volume control is there any reason why I shouldn't just pick up an older one (for about $100 less) and install the new software on it (for $10)??

Hi Pat,
Yes, very off topic. But to answer your question, an update is in the works.

Terry,

This is off topic for your post, but wanted to get an idea as to what you thought. I, like you, use LR2; however, I confirmed with Adobe that the issues with the adjustment brush being slow and going on fully useless are too pervasive for their customers to not post a patch to fix this.

I was curious if you have any information as to when this update would be posted so we can all get on with using the adjustment brush as it was originally intended.

Thanks so much for any help you can provided,
Pat in Houston.

WOW !!

I'm so happy you did an overview about Apple's new releases... I mean it's cool to have the keynote available to watch, but I'd much rather read the "high points" !!
Thanks for keeping us all informed : )
