I totally agree, long term, apple should make it built in. Since you also have the “pin lock” problem. you might just want to download the free medical ID card from the http://www.kavapoint.com website..

Can’t remember the exact link address but the card has a field for an unlock code so you can add that to your wallet. That’s what I use.

Looks good and definitely holds a lot of info, but the problem is my iPhone is locked with a pin. So at that point the app doesn’t do much good in an ICE situation other than the wallpaper which I already have. Apple needs to make this a built-in feature for locked iPhones.

There are many apps out there that do ICE. Most don’t work with locked phones. One of the few that do is iEmergency http://bit.ly/iEmergency

They have a wallpaper creator function + ICE + it holds unlimited medical information
hope this helps. Until apple makes it standard, this is probably a good option

It would be nice if the Iphone would allow for a set of “DMZ” applications/features, much like the Dial 911 option. One could allow particular functions to be accessible in this DMZ where an unlock code was not required. Then, somebody (you?) could write the very app you detail above, sell it for the appropriate fee, and bless it for the ICE DMZ.

This app is basically doing what I was already doing in Photoshop (making it easier and free of course), but I still would like to see this capability built-in and fleshed out a bit more with more features.
