Very seconded on Lynn's comment regarding app update behavior. The add-updated-app-to-end-of-list thing drives me up the wall. I would very much appreciate it if they would update in place.

Hi Terry,

Good list but can I add a few things. I switch from a Blackberry Curve to an iPhone and here are the things that RIM just plain does better.

1. Auto-on and off. Love having calendar reminders waking me up at 2 am because I forgot to turn off my iPhone.

2. Speaking of reminders, how about a "Weekdays" only option so the "Pick up Kids" reminder doesn't pop-up on Weekends

3. A better Quickdial system. You have to unlock the iPhone, go to Phone then Favourites, then the number. Blackberry...hold down the appropriate key and presto...the number.

4. Sure would be nice to bulk delete the Junkmail I get.

5. Cut and Paste...duh.

6. To Do...duh, duh.

That's just a few of my ideas. Miss my Blackberry but really enjoying the iPhone.

Here's something I hate. If I update an app using the update option in the iPhone itself, the app icon moves to the last spot in the last screen. Then I have to move it back to where I had it originally, which sometimes is difficult to do considering how those icons slip and slide all over. I wish there was a better way to manage them.

My wish list includes: 1) bluetooth keyboard compatibility, 2) Pocket Quicken for iPhone by Landware (or a Quicken Lite from Intuit that is sync-able to your desktop Quicken), 3) an office suite like Documents-to-go that allow you to create, receive, edit and transmit files, and 4) the essential ability to cut, copy and paste.

We can assume Apple is holding off on Copy & Paste until it is bullet-proof(?) notes syncing, yes!!
Sirius "Star Player" is indeed coming I read. Yay!
Now, if only Nintendo would license some classic game titles! - (i know, it'll never happen)...

Notes. Notes MUST *sync* to the computer.

I can live (for now... this is temporary, right?) without cut and paste on the phone itself, but if I can't create a small collection of notes on the computer (where I can cut and paste all I want) and sync it to the phone, well, Houston, we have a problem.

Terry

I love your tech blog and I check it daily to see which products you used and why you like it. I wanted to bring your attention to one update I think is completely missing. TO DO NOTES! The ability to sync to do notes from iCal or mail to your phone when you sync them. It really doesn't need to be synced wirelessly for it to be amazing. I keep a running list of to do items in my iCal calander because I spend a lot of time on my mac. I hate that I have to either e-mail them to myself or try to remember what I put in iCal in order to recreate the list on my iPhone. That might be what apple was going for when they decided not to sync them together but I am all about not recreating steps to increase workload. That is the reason I have a to do list, so I know what I am supposed to be doing.

Anyway that would probably be my the most needed feature that apple can put on the iPhone!
