Peter,
The Add-in would be needed to control someone's screen, again by YOU, not by the guest. The guest doesn't have install ANYTHING ever unless they are going to present or control someone's screen.
The Add-in doesn't not remove itself. It is 18.2MB and can be removed whenever you want. The add-in automatically asks to install at the point you either choose to share your screen or control another screen and the installation (including downloading) takes about 1-2 minutes if that.

My best advice is for you to try it via the free trial first. This way you'll know exactly how it's going to work for you without spending any $$

Terry, I should have clarified that my questions was related to guests. So if I want to take remote control of a guest's screen:-

What software do they have to install?

How big is the install?

Is the install temporary (goes away when IE is closed) or permanent?

If permanent, can it be removed by the guest later?

I'm considering going for the 15 seats/$39 per month option but would like to know the above before proceeding.

Thanks

Peter,
The Add-In is a small piece of Flash for the PRESENTERS ONLY, not the guests. Your guests don't need to install anything unless they are going to share their screens.

Terry,

What is the add-in you have to install for screen sharing. I use another (less featured application) which only needs a very small, temporary IE applet.

I ask as installs seem to be a real turn-off for guests.

Thanks

Another alternative is DimDim, which can be found at http://www.dimdim.com/.

"Dimdim is a free web conferencing service where you can share your desktop, show slides, collaborate, chat, talk and broadcast via webcam with absolutely no download required to host or attend meetings.

The Dimdim Web Meeting service is available in open source, professional and commercial enterprise editions capable of supporting thousands of attendees. And unlike all other web meeting solutions, Dimdim is available in both onsite (you install it on your servers) and hosted (we install it on ours) configurations."

Rob,
It may have more to do with your older graphics card than your G4 processor. However, you probably are pushing the limits of your system.

It sounds great Terry, but I wonder if it will work with aging macs? I have a pretty old 1Ghz Tibook that I'm trying to run AdobeConnectNow on and it was dog slow. I have broadband, so I don't think it was the connection. The system requirements don't really give a lot of info in terms of what works and what doesn't.

So do you need a really fast processor to make this work?

Thanks.
