Adobe Creative Cloud Market is Here

One of the features shown during the Keynote Address for the 2014 Release of Creative Cloud was the new Adobe Creative Cloud Market. These assets are licensed for Creative Cloud users to use royalty free in their design projects. All you have to do is run the update to your Creative Cloud desktop application and the new “Assets” tab will be there.

You can either browse the assets there are featured or you can do a search for keywords. If you find a piece that you want to use, just click the sync button.

The asset you choose will then be sync’d down to your hard drive in your Creative Cloud files folder in a new folder called “Market Downloads”. I downloaded a vector file for a cake. It arrived in .SVG format and I was able to easily open it in Adobe Illustrator CC and access the vector points and curves to alter it if needed or to save/export it out in a different format for use in other applications.

The selection is a bit limited on this opening day, but I expect it grow as more art is licensed along the way. This is a nice plus to the Creative Cloud membership.

  1. I just downloaded the update to the desktop application and it is working great. I really like the ability to collaborate across the cloud.

Is there a away to make the desktop application full screen. At 2 wide there is a lot of scrolling to see all the assets even no. I can’t imagine how long it will be in a couple of years. Perhaps down the road it would be good to have some organizational structure so you can quickly see what you want.

    1. I missed the down arrow next to Market. Much more is available in several categories.

Next how to see full screen.

      From the FAQ
Creative Cloud Market is available to all paid Creative Cloud members. Single app and complete members with any plan—single user, Team, Education, or Enterprise—are eligible. Users can access Creative Cloud Market through Creative Cloud for desktop app.

Creative Cloud Photography plan members are not eligible to access Market through Creative Cloud for desktop. Free members can browse Market assets through Creative Cloud for desktop but cannot download content.

      1. When I look under my CC icon, I have the latest version of CC (1.7.0.413) installed. When I go to the Market Assets menu to a particular Asset and click on it, there is a download icon; when I click on that I am told that I need to upgrade. But I already am a Photography Program subscriber. To put it another way, I don’t know how to use the asset. I don’t know how to get it into the Creative Clouds folder on my desktop, or anywhere else for that matter.

      2. Below is the message I get when I try to download an Asset. Since I haven’t been able to download any Market Assets, there is no Market Downloads folder inside of my Creative Cloud Files.

    1. To draw exposure to your work, Adobe recommends that all potential artists post their work on Behance. Adobe searches for and curates future content on Behance.

  2. Isn’t this available for the Photography plan subscribers also?
When trying to download I get a message saying that it’s only for “paid CC members”. Isn’t Photography Program considered a paid membership?

      1. So Single app and complete members with any plan … are eligible. Except not if the Single app is Photoshop? WTF?

  3. Behance’s facts & figures page shows ~75M images on the network – how many of these are currently available royalty-free on CC Market?
